Performing Arts Tapestries

The artwork comprises of four tableaux to be woven into tapestries as a permanent fixture. Barry Kay conceived them as an intriguingly intricate, homogeneous set of collage compositions which, in accordance with their designated environment, illustrate the performing arts throughout the centuries.

Location:
Circle Foyer, Victorian Arts Centre *), State Theatre, Melbourne.

Consultations, research, designing, final presentation:
1983/FEB/24 - 1984/MAR/19

Designs commissioned by the Victorian Arts Centre.
